| | Stupid install tricks Just curious if the persons responsible for implementing the activation scheme were high on crack, why would I have to reactivate windows (vista) just because I updated a hardware driver for my wacom tablet? I am really starting to get annoyed with how Microsoft view their loyal customers as thieves. |

There are plenty of alternatives that don't. |

| | Re: Stupid install tricks I agree. It's a pain! Something is wrong with Vista in the sense that it thinks your hardware changed enough to require re-activation. Which ultimately was not the case. I don't think MS has responded to this issue yet. My suggestion, get used to it or switched to an alternative. http://www.ubuntu.com is a wonderful place to start. I find MS' treatment of their customers lately to be the equivalent of being hit in the nuts with a steel baseball bat. Dunno about you but...I prefer to not take such abuse. -- Stephan Rose 2003 Yamaha R6 君のこと思い出すひなんてないのは 君のこと忘れた時がないから |

You're not the only one. I was a loyal MS customer until they got into their you-gotta-prove-you're-not-a-thief trip, over and over and over again. What causes more lost revenue: getting loyal customers like you and I pissed off and looking into alternatives coupled with the script readers cost in India and Boliva vs. piracy. It doesn't take a systems analyst to figure that one out. Like another poster suggested, check out www.ubuntu.com/ and order the free CD. No product key, no WGA, no WGA/N, no ISS and NO COST. They even pay the postage to deliver the CD which you can install on as many computers as your little heart desires. Check this out: http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZD7QraljRfM Alias |
