| | VIsta crashes constanly with a blue screen I have just upgraded from windows xp professional to vista ultimate. Install was ok but Vista does not work. Every time it starts, it shows me desctop and crashes with a blue screen givin stop error 0x00000119(0x00000001.... It says something about Video scheduler. Does anyone knows what it is related to? And what is that video scheduler and maybe I can somehow try to disable it in safe mode? Safe mode runs ok without any problem. |

Sounds like you don't have Vista ready drivers for your video card. Either that or something that was carried over from the previous configuration of XP Pro that messed up the Vista install. I would first go into Safe Mode with networking and see if your card has updated drivers. If not, I would clean install Vista, which you can do by wiping the hard drive, install Vista without imputing the Product Key and then install it again with the product key. This will fool it into thinking it's updating itself. Alias |

| | Re: VIsta crashes constanly with a blue screen That's an interesting idea but when I installed upgrade I have chosen option to wipe out previous version to windows.old directory and install vista as clean install. It never gave me a chance to set-up any drivers because it keeps crashing in 1-2 minutes after it goes up. Use a floppy from your hard drive manufacturer's web site to not only format the drive but to also update the master boot record and see if you can do it then. Be sure to back up your data first.
