Home Basic tweaks

I was just reading the differences for the different versions of Vista, and
trying to tweak home basic appeals to me.
Was thinking of installing it on my spare lappy that only goes to hotels for
overnighters.
From what I see, Microsoft didn't install any extras on the basic package,
did they put in the means stop me from installing third party extras like
dvd burning software, and windowblinds?
I mean this laptop pc is only used for internet access in hotels, so it
doesn't really need more than basic offers.
Plus, it would be fun.

You can still install 3rd party software, it just effects what comes on the
disc. Although one of the most obvious losses is the Aero theme.

Re: Home Basic tweaks

Thanks Paul, thats what I thought, but I wasn't sure, and I didn't want to
buy it and find it was artificially application limited.
My lappy won't run areo anyway, so that part doesn't really affect me.
