    Tracking down recurring error ...

I am attempting to track down this recurring error ... I receive a Host
Process DEP error, noted whenever I resume from sleep. Here is the data from
the Event log. Can anyone help me understand what is happening and how to
    prevent the error? Thanks!

    Faulting application svchost.exe_HPSLPSVC

It is the drivers of HP that crash after sleep, but I've no idea how to solve this. I'm experiencing the exact same thing.

What issue? You haven't quoted any of the post to which you refer so there
is no context. This is actually a Usenet newsgroup in spite of the presence
of the (awful) web interface. Many folks use a newsreader to access
newsgroups and only download the recent messages so older messages in a
thread are not visible. That's why when replying to a thread it's standard
protocol to quote at least a part of the message to which you reply for
context. Better yet create a new post with your issue including relevant
    details.

Vista comes with Windows Mail which is already set up for access to the MS
newsgroups under Microsoft Communities. I suggest you use that or another
newsreader of your preference to access these Usenet newsgroups.

Re: Tracking down recurring error ...

I am not sure if it is coincidence. I have been having this problem and
my printers used to dissapear. I have HP All in One - PhotoSmart 6180
    printer/fax/scanner..

I found out that Microsoft Fax device driver that was installed - had
version 6.0.6000.16386. Same as the application error message the gets
    reported on the event log.

I removed the fax, then removed the Microsoft fax device driver. I
then added HP devices (not the device drivers - as those were already
    installed.) using the installation program.

I hope that this resolve the issues that I have been having with my
    printer.
