Vista - can't get task manager working

I am trying to get task manager working again, I am using Vista Premium and
it used to work, I tried making a shortcut and run under admin but to no
avil. I get the message task manager has shut down because of DEP I have
checked and it is turned off. any help?

I too, am having the same issue. One way in which I am able to launch Task
Manager is by opening Msconfig and selecting the "Tools" tab and then
browse down and select Task Manager and click on the "launch button. Hope
this will work for you too.

Turn DEP back on.

thanks for the tip, same thing still doesn't work, and I checked the DEP and
you can't turn it off for taskmanager!!!!
