| | VISTA MEDIA CENTER ~ Programmed wrong remote With VISTA Home Premium as a rookie not realizing the power of this remote, I thought my cable remote should be used. WRONG, so...how do I reprogram my Media Center to use the Media Center Remote that came with the HP Pavillion m7750n Bundle? I have just spent 2.5 hours trying to find the help through all the resources except online chat with a tech..You all probably have already experienced this, eh? THANKS in advance! |

| | Re: VISTA MEDIA CENTER ~ Programmed wrong remote If the remote does not say Microsoft on it you are in the wrong place. You really have to talk to the company that either made the remote or supplied you with the remote. That would be HP. There are specific instructions for each type of remote. Even though a remote may be "universal", the programming steps certainly are not. -- Regards, Richard Urban MVP Microsoft Windows Shell/User "b~md" <b~md@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:A0369D83-8C33-45DB-B781-E5A9EE93DC4D@microsoft.com... > With VISTA Home Premium as a rookie not realizing the power of this > remote, I > thought my cable remote should be used. | | Re: VISTA MEDIA CENTER ~ Programmed wrong remote Thank you for your prompt response! This is the HP ~ WINDOW MEDIA CENTER Remote! It matches the MEDIA CENTER LOGO, but I could not find any literature, etc. to explain how it works. The big GREEN WINDOWS button does something when I push it since I have my remote and this tiny red light attached to it flashes. The button seems to toggle between some of the applications, yet I have no idea what I am doing when selecting it. SO, again, my question is: where is there info on it's function and how to reprogram my TV tunner from the Scientific Atlanta, EXPLORER 3100, from the DVR remote that was supplied with it "to the Official Windows Media Center remote?" Thanks again for any revisits to my request! "Richard Urban" wrote: > If the remote does not say Microsoft on it you are in the wrong place. Part of that setup is training the media center remote to work with your settop box or TV. -phil |
