Answer: Because Ingres makes a terrible product, is on it's last legs
and is trying anything to survive.
Even if it means going Linux, which is the kiss of death.
Ask Loki who couldn't sell a single game because Linux users are too
cheap to pay for anything.

It's just the equivilent of spam and preaching isn't it? But wrong as it
may be, for Linux advocates to try to sway PC users, doesn't replying just
help to keep the topics alive?

I note that rather a lot of postings such as these have appeared lately in
Microsoft groups.
They seem to have three things in common:-

1. They would appear never to be instigated by Linux enthusiasts - rather,
they usually seem to be replies which have been cross-posted by somebody
responding to a post in a Linux group - trolls, in fact, who post a reply,
and add the cross-posting to try to stir things up.

2. Any "originals" (postings which start a thread, and are not in reply to
another posting) always seem to be very critical/inflammatory with respect
to Linux.

3. The vast majority of them seem to come from the same person, writing
under very many pseudonyms.

It works, of course, if one lets it - the Linux users reply in anger, often
not seeing the added cross-post, while the Windows users get sick to death
of Linux postings appearing in their group.

imo the first step in trying to eradicate the practice is simply to start
noting who makes the first posting. When one realises that one is being
trolled, and who is doing the trolling, things become easier to understand,
and one is much more likely to direct ones chagrin to where it belongs:-)
