Outlook Express vs Windows Vista

Anyone has any idea how I can keep OUTLOOK EXPRESS in Windows Vista? So far
it's been my only REGRET to have Vista. I need Outlook Express badly! I need
multiple identities without creating multiple users!!!!
Someone help?

RE: Outlook Express vs Windows Vista

Hi,

So far Windows Mail looks exactly like Outlook Express that I can see. You
can still setup multiple user accounts under Tools-Accounts and you can
choose ones that are included in the send and receive.

What do you mean by multiple identities?

The only thing I found missing with Windows Mail was my lovely Outlook Bar
on the left side that I am sooo sad to see go. I prefered it to the Folder
List because I could choose to have only a few folders on it. Other than that
it appears the same to me.

Cheers,
Lara

Re: Outlook Express vs Windows Vista

Iforbes.. Windows Mail had removed the "identities" function of outlook
express.
This was made for win98 users before user accounts (in the way win2k and xp
has them) existed.

read about what identities are here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/209169

Re: Outlook Express vs Windows Vista

OE won't install in Vista.
There is an add-on (not free) that supposedly gets you Identities
in WinMail: http://www.oehelp.com/WMIDs/Default.aspx
I haven't tried it.

Sometimes, even tho we get to really like the apps./clients we've used
for years, sometimes it's best to try something new. I was just in this
boat, and am now using Thunderbird for mail and I'm not looking back.
Each day I use it I'm glad I was "forced" to try something new.
