file extensions

when I download movies off the internet on the many different torrent sites I
can't seem to get them into the burn program .whenever I try to move them
from the download program either bitlord or Azureus I get the message from
windows that it does not support that particular file extension which are
quite a few.my question is this does anybody know what I might be doing
wrong. and exactly what type of file extensions does windows vista home
premium support.

What file types are we talking about? Some true video format like
divX, AVI or MPEG or some compressed file format or a series of files
that need to be reassembled in order to return the video into a whole?
It is common for large video files to be "broken up" into many small
segements you need to rejoin when they're posted to the Internet,
especailly when posted to binary newsgroups.

So if you can give the file extension, I'm sure somebody will offer a
selection of players than can play it.

Regardless of your intent, what are you trying to ask ?

What does......'whenever I try to move them from the download program
either bitlord or Azureus I get the message from windows that it does not
support that particular file extension which are quite a few.' mean ?

'Windows' supports all file extensions. It doesn't matter what the file
extension is. You can name any file with any extension.

Now if you are saying your burning program doesn't recognize the file
format, that's a different story.

But, I can't answer your question because I've never burned a movie to DVD.

I don't see anything in his post about stealing anything -- You do know
that there are many movies online available for free distribution, no?

Insert something clever here.

Re: file extensions

Funny, somebody from M$ who's accusing someone from stealing just because he
uses the very clever Bittorrent protocol (M$ tried to make it's own inferior
version Avalanche:
http://research.microsoft.com/~pablo/avalanche.aspx) to download a movie. M$
is stealing money from a lot of people by releasing a buggy "new" operating
system for $200,-.
I think I will be stealing Ubuntu with Bittorrent instead. :-)
