Vista - Vista in VMware Server

Does Vista run as guest in VMware Server? Are there known issues?

It runs well as long as you download the latest version of VMware server...

it was updated to fix some problems with vista...

Your HOST pc must have at least 1 gig or ram, because vista as a client will
need
512 mb

No problems at all.. everything works.. oh.. of course you will not have
glass support...
but that is obvious...

(I read that there IS a way to do have 3d acceleration but I have not tried
it)

Microsoft in it's never ending quest to maximize profits at the expense of
its users has made it so that only Fista Ultimate is allowed to run in a
virtual machine. Whether this is a technical restriction or simply an EULA
restriction, I don't know?

This simply isn't true...

I looked a few days ago and I believe it's officially listed as
"experimental" support which in VMWarese means "we think it should work but
why don't you try it and let us know if you have any problems".

Give it a try and post back.

The Vista EULA does in fact indicate that you cannot run Vista Home
Basic and Home Premium in a VM. It states:

Vista permitted to run in a virtual environment - Vista Business and Vista
Enterprise are also permitted:

I apologize if I was wrong in terms of the EULAs of all this Fista ****.
There are just too many versions/EULAs to keep up with. But most users
around here would be using either home basic or home "premium" I'd guess
and if they don't want a MVP getting on their case, they better not break
MickeyMouse's rules (EULAs).

So now that you've clarified, it looks like the majority of people who end
up with Fista on their home PCs won't be permitted to run that crap in
VMWare.
