Google for clean upgrade vista; you should find something about doing a clean install with an upgrade key and maybe other URLs with good info. -Paul Randall |

| Guest | Re: Windows Vista Clean Install with downloaded version If you bought the upgrade online via Windowsmarketplace, then no, it has to be an inplace upgrade. The 3 files that you download do not give you a working bootable DVD that would be required for a clean install. I believe there was an option during purchase to have physical media sent out. -- Jane, not plain 64 bit enabled :-)Batteries not included. | Guest | Re: Windows Vista Clean Install with downloaded version also the key that is in the digital key file only works with the upgrade even if you have a vista disk, I tried it already. | Guest | Re: Windows Vista Clean Install with downloaded version You install twice. First time you DO NOT enter the Product Key. Then you do an in-place upgrade of Vista with Vista and this second time enter the Product Key. After that's done, Vista will activate. See Paul Thurrott's website for details: [How to Clean Install Windows Vista with Upgrade Media] http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase...rade_clean.asp Saucy Lemon "Peter" <Peter@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:E14E16A0-4E53-474B-919C-6B91C8F7C71D@microsoft.com... >I want to clean install windows vista from a downloaded upgrade version > because I read that the performance of the computer will improve.
