| | Need help in printing via the old "LPT" port in Vista I am using an old DOS-based program which is very old, but very convinient for me to use. In Windows XP, I was able to get around this problem by using the following commands: Start Run CMD net use lpt1 \\violin1\brother /persistent:yes where "violin1" is the computer name and "brother" is the printer name. See the following link: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;314499 I have also verified using the "net view \\violin1" command that "Brother" is being used as LPT1 for Printing" However, when I try to use the print command within the DOS program, nothing happens. No errors, but just sits there until I manually close the window. I am running my old DOS-based program to be compatible under Windows 95. Anyone with ideas as to why this is not working with Vista Ultimate? |
