I really like that you guys integrated burning software in to Vista. The
problem is that I can't use it to burn CDs for my friends have Macs. You guys
have limited your users to only burning discs using your new file format and,
while I'm sure that format us great and all, it's not always appropriate to
use.
I went through the regular technical support process and at the end of my
conversation with your tech support guy, his conclusion was - problem solved,
not Vista's fault, Apple needs to update their OS to recognize the new
format. I'm sorry but that's ridiculous. First of all, could Apple even do
that if they wanted to? It's proprietary technology so it raises the
question; is the new file format legally open for other companies to use?
Even if it is, and assuming other companies have any interest in doing that,
that's going to take time for them to implement and in the mean time I'm not
able to burn CDs that will work on any computer except my own, seeing as how
I'm the only person I know who's running Vista. You guys should really look
in to implementing the ISO 9690 format in to Vista's burning software. It's a
nice fallback format to use in these situations. I was so excited that I
didn't have to mess around with Nero anymore, but not it looks like I'm going
to have to after all. That being said, I have to wonder if I'll ever get any
use out of Vista's burning software at all, which is unfortunate. All I'm
saying is, make it something that people can actually use TODAY, instead of
forcing everyone else to adapt and implement your new-fangled file format.
All your doing is alienating your users.
