Vista Tutorial - windows vista refuses open office suite

Tried loading open office suite 2.01 from a MaximumPC CD onto a new Acer
Aspire notebook I just bought running Vista OS. Got "Error opening
software/sysdetect.exe" as soon as I closed the DVD drive, and then "Error
opening software/apps/OOo_2.01_Win32Intel_install_wJRE.exe" when I clicked
Install. Wil Vista be made to load this suite? Anyone know how? Theseus Tired

OO is up to version 2.1 now. You could download that version.
Michelle reported that OO messed up her laptop - she didn't say
which brand she has. Uninstalling OO restored her laptop's function.
Maybe she skipped installing Sun's JRE6 before installing OO.
