| | WMP11 Default/Disable Quicktime in IE7 I just recently had to install Quicktime on my computer for another program to work. Now Quicktime plays embedded .mp3's in IE7. WMP11 is set as the default player but for some reason when I go to a site with music it plays with quicktime. I have disabled the Quicktime plugin in my IE7 browser so NOW I don't get any music on any web sites with music. I really hate Quicktime and would rather not have it on my system but my Muvee producer program needs it. I am running Vista, WMP11, Quicktime 7.1 Any suggestions? |

| | Re: WMP11 Default/Disable Quicktime in IE7 Nobody knows how I can fix this? I have googled the problem and tried what I found with the exception of de-selecting .mp3 under Quicktimes file menu because I can't find it. | | Re: WMP11 Default/Disable Quicktime in IE7 Okay clearly no one knows how the deal with this problem so I poked around some more and found the solution. I will share it here so if anyone else has this problem they will have the fix. I clicked on 'Default Programs' and went to 'Set Program Access and Computer Defaults', clicked on 'Custom' than scrolled down to 'Choose a default media player'. It will have 'Use my current media player selected' but for some reason this didn't make any difference (I have WMP set as my default) so I clicked on the 'Windows Media Player' button clicked OK and voila now WMP plays .mp3's in IE. I don't know why IE wouldn't even tho' under 'Set you default programs' WMP has all defaults selected. Go figure. But now all is well and hope this helps someone else.
