| | Can't get Vista to wake up I accidentally put Vista into Sleep mode last night and since then have not been able to get it to wake up. The CPU fan is running, not shut down like the manual said it would. I've tried tapping the keyboard and mouse as well as holding down the power button with no luck, and it seems the only solution is to just unplug it from the wall (which I know is a dangerous and unhealthy thing to do computer wise). Any help? |

| | Re: Can't get Vista to wake up Turning the power off is playing russian roulette. But it is a 1000 round cylinder though on any particular time the chances of something bad happening is very small. And in your case you have no choice. | | Re: Can't get Vista to wake up That was the first thing I tried, but with no luck (held it for a good 30 seconds too) I use a Mac G5 at work and holding the power button is howyou do a hard reboot, but it'll power down after about 5 seconds. | | Re: Can't get Vista to wake up Try hitting the windows key, u, and then hit enter. If that doesn'd do anything hit Alt-F4 a few times. That was the only way I could shut down my laptop when I tried getting it to un-hibernate.
