| | editing boot loader I partitioned my C drive so that I could install Vista and run dual boot. I don't necessarily want to remove Vista but I would like to edit the boot loader if possible so that XP is the default. I can't seem to find any way to get this done. Is it possible or do I need to completely remove Vista? Thanks |

| | Re: editing boot loader Hi, Two ways you can do this: 1) Run msconfig from the start/search box. On the boot tab, select the XP entry and then click 'set as default'. 2) Start, type CMD and right click the entry in the menu, select the option to run as administrator. From the prompt, run: CD\ bcdedit /enum Look at the identifier for the XP entry, then run: bcdedit /default [identifier} -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org "TS Mathews" <NOSPAMtsmohio@yahoo.ca> wrote in message news:gG_Mh.3613$6z3.2752@edtnps82... >I partitioned my C drive so that I could install Vista and run dual boot. >I don't necessarily want to remove Vista but I would like to edit the boot >loader if possible so that XP is the default.
