migration to Vista from Windows 2000 pro

I am getting a new PC with Vista Home Premium. I need to migrate my
photos, documents, and most importantly all of my Outlook Express
emails.
Microsoft web site has software for "Easy Data Transfer" between XP
and Vista, but I cannot find info on Windows 2000 migration to Vista.
Anyone who can direct me on how to do this??
Useful information greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Matt

Re: migration to Vista from Windows 2000 pro

There are several */exclusions associated with Easy Data Transfer.

Don't believe that the Belkin USB-to-USB cable method will work
from Windows 2000 to Vista. Also, the "Settings" transfer doesn't
work going from 2000 to Vista. ( Limited to XP to Vista )

Basically you have to run EDT on the Vista machine to create the
installer module to run on your Windows 2000 PC. Once that is in
place you run the EDT to create your transfer module and choose
the destination to store it ( Network share, Flash...)

Depending on the amounts of data you might be better off just
manually moving data by burning to optical disks and placing in the
Vista profile folders. On OE you can export your .IAF and restore
emails from an import of .dbx Outlook Express data stores.
