Vista Media Center playback error

Hi, having recorded two programs on the same night one of these fails to
playback with the error message :

"Video Error
Files needed to display video are not installed or not working correctly.
Please restart windows media center or restart the computer."

Why would one program work one not, when both were recorded on the same
night, same channel. Surely if files were missing or there was a problem then
both files would fail rather than just one failing.

Any ideas ?

Dave:
Yes. Download and install GSpot (http://gspot.headbands.com/) in order to
find which video/audio codecs you are missing.

RE: Vista Media Center playback error

Thanks for the reply, I have installed gspot and loaded a file that plays ok
into it, I get some errors at the bottom but I dont know what the problem is
its not very clear. How do the following messages help they dont mean much to
me :

Failed to connect output pin 0x04b23d44 ("Src Media") on FILENAME to input
pin (Stream) on filter 0x02e959ef (Divx Demux) connect direct failed Error
unknown

I have also tried downloading the Vista codec pack but still having same
issue.
