| | Windows Installer Patch issues - privileges When running a .msp, logged in as an admin, we get an error basically saying insufficient privileges. It does not bring up a box to escalate credentials though. There is also no option to run it manually with elevated credentials. Has anyone run into this and found an easier way than me (below) around this? My workaround. Start a command prompt with administrative rights. Now, unfortunately, the .msp file is on a network share, and the admin command prompt can only navigate local disks (!?!?!?!?). So I copied the file to my desktop and ran it through the command prompt. It worked fine this time. I'm just thinking there must be an easier way to do the install itself, as well as some way to navigate to network folders when in the admin command prompt. |
