| | ReadyBoost drive never stops I'm using a machine with 2gigs of RAM & recently plugged a little 1gig Kingston USB drive in to use with ReadyBoost. The drive shows CONSTANT activity. It's little blue light blinks almost all the time, even when computer is sitting idle. What's it doing? Thanks, |

Unplug it and forget about it. I saw so little change is speed with only 1 gig of RAM that's what I did. BTW mine flashed constantly also. gls858 |

| | Re: ReadyBoost drive never stops There is always activity e.g. computer is never "idle". Readyboost works in concert with Superfetch - Vista's virtual memory (page file) utility and can be a max of 4 gigs. There is a Readyboost cache whether or not you utilize an external memory device. Readyboost also works in concert with "Readyboot" - the purpose is to document page file use to modify boot behavior (faster?) after prolonged use of Readyboost. BTW : There is also "Readydrive" - works with hybrid drives.
