Vista - IE7 sites display small and narrow

My display setting is 1920x1200 and I have a Dell 2405FPW monitor driven by
an ATI X1900 graphics card. I ahve the text size (View) set to 'largest'.
Yet sites appear in the center of the screen with blank space of the sites
colors on each side. Is there a setting in IE7 Tools to cause web sites to
fill my screen?

Hi,
If you stretch the IE window out to fill the screen, most webpages should
fill that window. Some pages are written (coded) to be a particular width.
Example: www.msn.com is about 800 pixels wide and fills in the rest of your
IE window with color.

You could use the Zoom feature of IE7 to make content larger.

If you mean by stretching to drag the edges that option is not available for
this site. I tried the zoom but that caused misalignment of the text with
the framing and some text overwrote other text.

It was a good idea but it didn't work out.

I have the same problem on my new computer. Don't know what to do, it's very
irritating to have little half size windows. And you're right, you can't
resize by stretching and if you magnify it larger everything gets really off.
If someone can help with this problem, I'd greatly appreciate it.

my screen. I have begun complaining to the webmaster of sites that do not
expand so that they cannot say that no one is complaining.

It is the way the site is built, just have to accept what is there folks, no
web builder is going to you complaints.

I am working on dealing with that sort of attitude via the U.S. Dept. Of
Justice and the Americans With Disabilities Act. Besides, all software is
regularly updated. If polite complaints to the 'webmaster' are ignored I
then call the webmaster's corporate employer. Polite reasonable complaints
do get heard and considered if not always acted upon.

Most, if not all, States have a "Consumer Advocate's Office". I just met
with an attorney from mine last night and Verizon, which has been ignoring me
for 3 months, will regret it when she calls them. It's not just having a
"big shot" on your side. It's that they speak directly to a high level
corporate executive.

Be reasonable, be polite and be persistant. Never allow yourself to be
ignored!
