Vista - Windows Live Messenger always signs me in as Busy

Hello,

Since I've been using Vista Ultimate, when Windows Live Messenger signs me
in my status is Busy. I've set my sign-in status to Online and Appear
Offline but it as soon as it signs in it changes to Busy. Any else have
this or is it just me? :-) I'm using version 8.1 (build 8.1.0178.00) as
downloaded last week.

Sounds like something in your profile is corrupted/invalid. Try exiting
Messenger, renaming C:\Users\<username>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Messenger to MessengerBackup, and restart Messenger/login.

Hi Rafael,

This seems random (like several problems I'm finding with Vista). It's fine
today, though it did it again yesterday and hasn't even been logging in
during the rest of this week.

Bring on the service pack.

Messenger is still doing this, I've renamed the folder below and will see
how this goes but my saved messages are in My Documents not here. Also the
folder is as follows:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Messenger
