| | Re: Switching between "Fade" and "Scroll" effects in Windows Vista Actually, the information you provided me was how to turn on or off those effects. Let me rephrase my issue: The menus and ToolTips are "scrolling", but I prefer the "fade" effect. What am I to do? -- B.D.T. | | Re: Switching between "Fade" and "Scroll" effects in Windows Vista You need to edit the registry value named 'UserPreferencesMask' found under this key: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop" If menus & tooltips are sliding, it probably looks like this. 9e 2c 07 80 12 00 00 00 For menus & tooltips to fade, it should be: 9e 3e 07 80 12 00 00 00 You'll need to log off & back on for the change to take effect. -- Good Luck, Keith Microsoft MVP [Windows XP Shell/User] "Brandon Taylor" <donnie126_2002@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:CC816B8E-BE47-41C1-A8EC-6B09F984341B@microsoft.com... > Actually, the information you provided me was how to turn on or off those > effects.
