Slightly OT: recording audio stream in Vista

I would like to record a radio programme (from the BBC) which streams using
Real Player.

Is there any way of recording the audio that I can hear on my PC - but can't
be easily recorded (if you know what I mean)?

Cheers.

Bobby

You could always plug an audio recording device into your sound card where
you would normally connect the speakers and record whatever comes out. The
#1 DRM killer!

Or you could download one of the many stream recording apps that work with
Real Player streams.

Re: Slightly OT: recording audio stream in Vista

If you have a Mic, try using the Sound Recorder utility in Vista located
under All Programs > Accessories. I'm not sure if its what you want, but it
does a good job recording audio. I record a song I couldn't download that
was being streamed by simply putting my Mic next to the Computers speaker
and clicked Record button the Sound Recorder utility.

Re: Slightly OT: recording audio stream in Vista

Or if the OP has Nero installed, he can use Nero Wave Editor.
Once inside, choose Audio, Record.

Re: Slightly OT: recording audio stream in Vista

You can download jetaudio free version that lets you record any
sound event that is playing on your soundcard...

see here:Jetaudio basic 6.2.8 http://www.cowonamerica.com/download/

It can record in WMA or Wav

The payed version can record in mp3 also.

How low tech! I guess you also advise people to get a canvas and oil paints
and paint an image of their screen so they can take a screencapture! lol

Vista's SOUND RECORDER can do this. Depending upon Vista version, files
will be either WAV or WMA. See HELP & SUPPORT.

If available, configure recording in your sound utilities for "what you
hear."
