| | Run Windows Calendar in System Tray Hi, Is there a way to run an application in the System Tray if it is not designed for that initially? I want the Windows Calendar to be running in the system tray. I have Vista on my laptop and I put it to sleep rather than shut down or logoff. I have stuff in my Windows Calendar as reminders. I have set the scheduled task options to wake up the computer at such an event but that doesn't work. If Calendar is open or running it will popup a message. I want to use my Calendar a lot more but don't want it running in the regular tray all the time. I added a reg key to auto start calendar at logon but it is just running it regularly. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run Thanks Lara |

| | Re: Run Windows Calendar in System Tray Hi Lara, No, the application would need to be designed to run from the system tray. For reminders, it would need to continually run a small background process that checks for the reminders if the full application is not running. Again, the program would need to be written with that in mind. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org "lforbes" <lforbes@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:C11F3E68-9C56-4331-8743-54B55496466C@microsoft.com... > Hi, > > Is there a way to run an application in the System Tray if it is not > designed for that initially? > > I want the Windows Calendar to be running in the system tray. > > I have Vista on my laptop and I put it to sleep rather than shut down or > logoff.
