I can access the internet from a program ie: the online help menu of my anti
virus program, but if I try to use my IE icon, I get an error message. (IE
has stopped working, blah blah blah) Any ideas?

Hi,

Click start, type 'Internet Options' and hit <enter>. Go to the programs
tab, click the button to manage add-ons. Start disabling them a few at a
time. Retry opening IE7 in between. Once it opens successfully, you will
know it is one of the ones you just disabled. Some experimentation should
reveal what the problem is.
