Bad File association

Internet explorer was mistakenly set to open all .exe files so now all
applications are crippled even the system restore. Any tips on how to resolve
that? This is a MS Vista Business machine.

Open Default Programs>Set Default Programs>Internet Explorer>Choose defaults
