Vista - The "X" Button. ~The Huge {Close} Button~

I have one simple question.. And it's about the design. We all know that
Windows Vista has good looks. My big problem seems to be that I don't
understand why it was necessary to use a double sized "close" button instead
of a normal one. Why???
It looks really bad. Like it's made for those silly people who can't manage
to find the close button of a window because they're too drunk. And usually
I'm not drunk. I can see that button. It's even worse than this. Sometimes
you don't wanna close anything but accidentally you do - it's a big button..
what do you know.

So please tell me.. why?

I don't know why, but during the early BETAs, when it was just a clear close
button, it was a bit hard to decipher. I guess its to put emphasis on what
you are doing when your mouse pointer is in that region of the window.

At least UAC doesnt ask if youre SURE you really want to close.

Users get fatigued. The longer I sit at a computer or the later in the day
the more often I start missing thinks I'm aiming for. Especially cascading
menus.

But Exit/Close was put there, where it is now, because prior to that one had
to dbl click the system menu icon (titlebar icon) which many users didn't
learn or found difficult. That system menu icon is still there even if it is
invisible in explorer windows.

Dbl click titlebar to maximise/restore, except where the system icon would
be, dbl click exits. The menu functions of the system menu are now
accessab;e by right clicking the titlebar anywhere and still by left
clicking where the icon would be.

However, and this applies to shell windows specifically, one used to be able
to right click the system menu icon, and get the context menu for the opened
folder (also in older versions the current folder icon in web view). This no
longer seems possible. And is a great disappointment. The feature was only
introduced in 1997. Gone by 2007.

If a person is thinking hard through the day. Over half of calories burned
will be in the brain. Not to mention the emotional hatred one feels towards
MS whenever one is using a computer. That burns energy too.

Just quit complaining about Vista. I think Vista is great!!!! It's the best
operating system that I've ever used. If you're too dumb to click
the "close" button when you didn't mean to, that's your problem. I love the
way Vista looks. It's got that WOW factor. Sometimes I wake up in the
middle of the night, just to go down to my computer and look at how
beautiful Vista looks. I'm not the least bit sorry that I spent hundreds of
dollars on new hardware and Vista. I can live with a big "close" button.
