| | Please help, I have trouble trying to add a shared network folder to the search index I just upgraded from Windows XP Pro to Windows Vista Buisness. I'm connected to a domain controlled by a Wndows 2003 Server. I created a new network sign-in name for myself after I upgraded because it was the only way I could get my Vista Theme to display. After upgrading, when I signed in with my old username the Vista Theme would always revert back to Windows Classic. However the search funtion worked fine and did successfully import my old index. I hope that makes sense. Anyways, now with my new sign in name I'm tring to rebuild the search index. I would like to add some shared network folders to the index, however when I get to the section to add locations, the "show all locations" button is greyed out and can not let me click it. Does anyone know what I need to do to have access to the "show all locations" funtion? Thanks in advance for your help. TG |

| | Re: Please help, I have trouble trying to add a shared network folder to the search index With the help of Microsoft Support, I regained the functionality to index shared network folders. I had to download and install an add- in: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en BTW..It appears that in my instance, the "show all locations" button is greyed out when there are no more locations to show. Once I installed the add-in, I had to map the network drive and then the locations showed up in the indexing options and I was able to select them for indexing.
