| Guest | Re: Multi Disc Program Installation Problems Surprisingly the discs are in near perfect condition and work properly when inserted under the typical installation. It's just during install that they aren't accepted. For instance, when installing MS Digital Image Suite 2006 (2-discs), I choose Complete Install, the install cd works fine for the complete installation, however, when asked for disk 2, I put the disc in, click ok and then it asks for the disc again, and again, and again until I get frustrated (only twice, hehe) and click cancel, it rolls back and nothing is installed. So, on 3rd installation attempt I chose Typical the installation is successful, only now, I have to put in the 2nd disc whenever I need a certain feature, unlike with XP, the complete installation gave me no issues at all. I've have the same problem with other multi disc programs that never were problems with XP. I just don't get it. Should I put an image on the harddrive and then just mount them when needed? Will that be my only option to get around the reaching for disc issue? Thanks for your response. Rich |
