Vista features???

This post is in no way meant to be negative. I would like some information. I went to
the Vista pages at the Microsoft web site, and there was scant information. I Googled and
found some information, mainly from the Longhorn days, and probably outdated, with the
exception of the already available I.E. 7. Aside from the nice new GUI, what features and
new components/applets does Vista have that would make one want to upgrade to Vista?
Also, I have done searches and cannot find any information about what email client and
news reader are included. If there is a news reader included, is it capable of encoding
and decoding yEnc attachments? Finally, what is your favorite new Vista
feature/component/applet, and why? Advance thanks to anyone who responds...

Re: Vista features???

The e-mail client/newsreader is called Windows Mail.

I wrote a preview on some of the cool features in Vista:

Thank you for the link to your impressive review page. Does the Windows Mail news reader
component encode and decode yEnc attachments?

Re: Vista features???

"Cool Points." Operating systems today are as much a visual experience as
they are work horses. If Microsoft has learned anything over the years of
doing this, a vast majority of users love the products because of "look and
feel" Listening to music, watching videos, surfing the web and writing
emails. ANY windows version or EVEN any Linux package can do that. But
just like any car can drive across the country...if given the choice most
would prefer to get there in comfort and in style.

Vista is probably the start of more of the "cool points" their products have
lacked in the past. If it reminiscent of the Mac OS, oh well. The Mac can
boast only to the degree it can do what it does on it's own hardware. When
they can do on the PC what they have done on the Mac then we'll talk.
