HELP WITH VISTA ISSUES

Hello all,
I'm having a couple of issues with Vista (at least the ones ive
discovered so far!)
First, video playback in WMP 11 is choppy. I have a 256 mg nvidia
video card so I certainly have enough video power. Why is playback so
choppy?
Second, the typing is consistently interrupted by whatever program I
am in (IE, Word, Outlook). So as I am typing the top bar of the
program lights up for a second and it wont recognize what i am
typing. It goes back right away but in the meantime, whatever i was
writing is all messed up.

As much as I love Vista, it is so buggy that I REALLY regret having
installed it.

Anyone have a solution to the choppy video playback and typing issues?

PLEASE HELP!

Please tell us which video card you have, as 256 meg doesn't necessarily
mean you have "enough video power". Also, which drivers are you running and
have you tried other versions? It sounds like a driver issue.

Did you upgrade your computer or is this a new computer that came with
Vista preinstalled? Did you install the latest drivers for all your
hardware?

Re: HELP WITH VISTA ISSUES

Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.80 GHZ
Nvidia Geforce 6800
1022MB RAM

This issue is happening on my desktop and laptop both of which are
running Vista.
I downloaded the latest drivers from Nvidias website but it didnt
help.
The video works, but at first its very choppy and if i try to advance
the video it gets choppy again.
The typing issue also happens on both my laptop and desktop. Whatever
program I am typing in pauses for a moment every couple of seconds and
interrupts my typing. I just turned off the windows sidebar which
looks like it might have solved the typing problem for now, but it is
ridiculous that I cannot use one of the Vista features because it
interrupts the whole system.

Why would microsoft release a product that is so BUGGY!

Anyone find a solution to the choppy, intermittent video playback?

Re: HELP WITH VISTA ISSUES

I did a fresh install of vista. I formatted and deleted the xp os
before installing. Booted off the Vista cd.

I had the choppy WMP11 problem, but on mp3 playback, not video.
It would be choppy upon opening a browser window for example.
One of the reasons I went back to XP where WMP11 plays smoothly with no
problems.
Just wish I could sell my Vista disc & licence...not many takers out there
for a activated copy of Vista :-(

When you return to XP you will notice a huge speed difference.
If you will miss the integrated search function in Vista, which IMO is
Vistas' best feature, I recommend Copernic which is free.
What else is there to miss in Vista?

Re: HELP WITH VISTA ISSUES

What's the total system memory and what kind of CPU does it have?

Did this machine come with Vista, or did you load it onto an XP machine?
