AIM chat w/ AOL

Years ago I had an AOL account. I wanted to chat on line w/ friends &
started up AIM to be able to do this. It only took me a few mins. because I
had been a previous customer. Now, I have a screen that pops up from AOL
asking me to return to AOL for free. There is no way to get out of this
screen unless I click the close button...this screen continues to pop up
every hr. or so & then I have multiple screens of AOL asking me to return as
their free customer...
I've tried increasing my pop up blocker but it doesn't help.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a way to 'block' this & still
have AIM so I can chat?

Copy your buddy list. Uninstall AIM. Go to www.aol.com and download AIM
like you were never a customer of AOL and install it with a new screen
name. Open your new AIM and invite all your former buddies to connect
with your new AIM.
