| | Weird UAC Window Positions I've noticed that several times when I do something that makes the UAC window appear in Vista, that the window itself doesn't always appear in the same place. For example, I just double clicked an executable file. Now I'd expect the UAC window to appear in the middle of the screen. However, it now appears in the bottom left hand corner? If I double click on another executable file, the UAC window appears now in the center, etc... Has anyone had this rather odd display bug? |

| | Re: Weird UAC Window Positions If I'm not mistaken, I believe UAC prompts occur near or above the point of access (icon, start menu, etc) and that this behavior is normal. _Mike |

It's actually potentially a security feature -- It makes it substantially harder for a program to manipulate the mouse into clicking on the button to give access (keep in mind that software cannot "see" the secure desktop) -- Insert something clever here. |
