Printer problems with Vista

Hello out there!

I'm trying to setup my wireless notebook with an HP 2575 printer to be
recognised on my LAN and all I get from Vista is it can't connect to the
printer. I have set the neccessary conditions for the printer sharing and
also admin permissions. I can only get the printer to be recognised as a usb
connection. I'm using a Linksys router hung off a cable modem. Can anyone
help out?

Re: Printer problems with Vista

You'll need to purchase a wireless print server.
Example:

Re: Printer problems with Vista

Thanks for your help on this, but Vista should see my other printers and
computers on my network, I think? I checked out the link you mentioned and
I'll have to get one of these! it makes a whole lot of sense. Thanks again

Re: Printer problems with Vista

Jeff...I too have roughly the same setup...running an hp printer through my
router (Linksys )...I have not had these problems ..I went to add the
printer,,Vista found it on my network,,,asked me for the drivers which I
then pointed to where they were Vista found them and installed them...Since
your HP2575 is network ready I would suggest connecting your laptop
(Ethernet cable to your router) as well as your printer (I presume already
connected to your router) then have Vista add the printer....Hp should help
you with this as well...I used to use a wireless print server and had
problems with them......2 of them actually had brain farts and died..(also
Linksys)..

Re: Printer problems with Vista

I have a HP2575 on my network. My printer has a LAN port built in and it is
connected to my router. I have had no issues running Vista with it.
