| | Re: My hard drive is constantly grinding away Blimey, some people get annoyed by little things! It's doing what all good operating systems do. Some of the activity is due to scheduled disk defragmentation. Some is the search and indexing system (though this diminishes to almost zero after a few days). Sometimes it preloads files into memory so they load much faster for you (based on your useage patterns). Sometimes it shuffles files around on the hard disk to speed up the boot process. In other words, it's all good stuff. Just ignore it. Steve |

What if every other time you went for a drive someone would attach a 10ton trailer to your car that it would have to drag?... Just ignore it?? |
