Re: huge lag on renaming/moving files in Vista

You can try this hotfix, but you'll have to ring up MS to get it (why do
they do that, it's really annoying and there seems to be no logical pattern
to what fixes are available for download and what you have to ring up for)

Re: huge lag on renaming/moving files in Vista

Seems i've found a temporary solution for this until MS release the next SP:

Start/Control Panel/Programs/Programs and Features
From the left hand menu 'Turn Windows Features on or off'
Scroll down and de-select 'Remote Differential Compression'

Click OK.

Re: huge lag on renaming/moving files in Vista

found this a while ago:

run this from an admin cmd:

netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disable

http://www.petri.co.il/improve_windo...erformance.htm

pretty sure i disabled it. sorted out all my copying/moving/networking speed
issues.
