Vista Tutorial - Help please, you need permission to perform this action

I know this has been asked and answered, but I still need help I can't figure it
out. I have a new computer with Vista. I put this on our home network and have
been dragging files from my old computer WinXP to a folder on my new computer.
Most of the files transfer without a hitch, but some tell me "you need
permission to perform this action" Most of my mp3's transfer just fine, but not
all; I get the above error message. Same with some of the .zip files, and a few
others. I have UAC turned off. I have my firewall turned off. I hope someone
can help my daughter is coming to get the computer tomorrow.

Unrelated to the above, some folders on my c: when I click on them says I don't
have permission.

right click on folder>properties>security>advanced>permissions or
ownership>allow

Thanks bunches that took care of the second question.
Now if I can get these files transfered

In your case, I don't know how you are doing it but I copied to an external
HD and then copied from there with no problems.

I'm doing it from one computer to another via a network
I know it's something in Visat bacause I have another computer on the network
and I can drag and drop the files there with now problems
