| | Changed Location of Documents, Now Won't Work I right clicked on documents in the start menu, and I went to the location tab, and changed it to an external harddrive. Now, when I hit it, nothing happens, and it has disappeared from my User Folder. And When I right click on it in the start menu again and hit properties, then it just has a general tab thats like blank with no data... |

| | Re: Changed Location of Documents, Now Won't Work Is the external hard drive connected (and accesible)? This problem happens if: 1. The external drive is not accessible or 2. Windows has changed the drive-letter assignment for the external hard drive recently. To fix the problem, you need to alter the shell folder value for "Personal" in this registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ User Shell Folders See also: Nothing happens when you click on a shell folder link in the Windows Vista Start menu: http://www.winhelponline.com/articles/180/1/ -- Regards, Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft MVP [Windows Shell/User] Windows® Troubleshooting http://www.winhelponline.com "Brian" <Brian@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:559E762E-0E46-47A2-970C-60155CCEAE4A@microsoft.com...
