| | Setup a Dialup Connection I am trying to setup a dialup internet connection on a new Vista (Home Basic) computer. With XP I could download the install software from Netscape or Juno using another computer, put it on a Flash drive and then install that on the new computer. Netscape and Juno don't support Vista. How can I get this computer connected to the Internet via dialup? TIA Wayne |

| | RE: Setup a Dialup Connection You might not need the software. Open Network and Sharing, choose Set up Dialup Connection and set it up manually. If any tools are needed, you can try moving the setup file to the Vista hard drive, right click on the file and choose Run as Administrator. | | Re: Setup a Dialup Connection I setup the dialup connection as you indicated and it makes the connection just fine but the connection is always "local only" - I have no Internet access? I even tried turning off the Firewall - no help. Any thoughts on what can cause this? | | Re: Setup a Dialup Connection Are you certain? Mine initial states "local" when dial-up is used. But after the first attempt to connect to the Net, Local and Internet both appear. Verify that the correct entries have been made in the connectoid's PROPERTIES, especially the DNS. /Wayne Wengert/ said: > I setup the dialup connection as you indicated and it makes the connection > just fine but the connection is always "local only" - I have no Internet > access?
