| | No Device Manager or Control Panel I built myself a new system ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe. AMP 64 X2 6000+, etc., etc. and I am having a few problem with the Windows operating system. The first time I installed Windows XP Pro and it seemed to install fine but when I installed some of the motherboard utilites I started having problems with the Internet Explorer 7 always locking up. I did another clean install of Windows of Windows XP Pro and I got a bit further, I was so confident I even activated it! Shortly there afer it again started to lock up with the Internet Explorer locking up but not only that, that system would not shut down and it was not a virus. I gave up on installing Windows XP Pro and I decided to Windows Vista. I am running Vista Home Premium on one machine so I decided to use it's DVD and see if it installs okay on this machine. I installed the Ultimate 32bit version from the DVD and I did not enter the product key. It warned me about that but since I was only testing to see if it would install properly I did not worry about it. Everything installed fine and was great last night. I decided that I would purchase Vista Utlimate on Monday. This morning I turn the machine on and I cannot access the Computer Properties or the Control Panel, everything else seems to be working. What I need to know is this another problem with the operating ststem or is it because I have not entered a product key or activated it? I hope someone has answer! Al |

| | Re: No Device Manager or Control Panel Please ignore this message. I turned the computer on again and everything works again. I would still like to know what happened if anyone knows.
