| | How do you "Select All" in Explorer "Select All" seems to have disappeared from the right-click menu in the files pane in the Vista explorer, whether you are on a file or on the free area at the right of the pane. I frequently want to select all the files in a folder and used it frequently in XP. What am I missing? Please respond to the Newsgroup, so that others may benefit from the exchange. Peter R. Fletcher The "select all" option is now under 'Edit' on the Menu Bar at the very top left of the Explorer window. Another quick way to select multiple files at once is click on the first file in a group you want, then select the last one in the group while holding down the Shift key. For example if you wanted all files in a folder from B to M just click on the first file starting with B and the last one with M while holding down Shift. If you want to select multiple files but skip over some, click on the first file you want to select, then while holding down the Ctrl key continue to left click on as many more files as you want skipping over ones you don't want. |

| | Re: How do you "Select All" in Explorer I don't remember select all being on the right click menu? You can use CTRL+a to select all or, use the old style menu bar and Edit/Select All. You can press the ALT key to see the old style menu bar. -- Ronnie Vernon Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User "Peter R. | | Re: How do you "Select All" in Explorer Hello Ronnie, You're right. I'm still using XP and when I right-clicked on an empty part of the right pane, there is no Select All listed in the popup menu. All the other methods listed by various posters DO work.
