| | Monitor disable in default profile in Windows Vista Ultimate I have an Optiquest V95 external monitor for my Dell Latitude 131L. Vista uses it as the primary monitor in all user profiles except the one originally created. For example, in any other profile, when I right-click the desktop and choose "personalize," followed by "display settings," the Optiquest V95 monitor is right there. The resolution is lovely. In the original profile, it only shows "generic PnP monitor" and "multi-monitors on Radeon Express." The Optiquest V95 isn't in the list, yet when I click the "advanced settings" button and select the monitor tab, it shows up as one of the monitors. How can I get that monitor to appear in the Display Settings list of monitors? Thank you. |

Use the ATI Catalyst Control Center and do the following: In the "Selected Display on: ATI Radeon Xpress" box, change the desktop area to a higher resolution and refresh rate, 85 Hz in this example. Click Apply and you will not only have better resolution, you will also see the Optiquest monitor appear in the drop-down list in Personal/Display Settings. |
