I have also used ZA free in XP for several years without problems.

I've fought conflicts with it since the original version. You've been
lucky.

you never disappoint Frank, we already know just how dumb you are...
you couldn't line up a handful of M&M's in alphabetical order, the "W's"
would confuse you.

I've little experience with it but I agree, many recommend it.

In Vista, I'm fine with the included firewall and a router.

Let me expand my comments on ZA, much as I think it's malware, much as
it's known for conflicts with other software, it does work well as a
firewall so if you run it w/o problems or conflicts with other
software, I wouldn't change but if you haven't already installed it,
I'd at least look at others.

Re: Cannot Install ZoneAlarm

I always used Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite on Windows XP with no
problems whatsoever. However, ZoneAlarm is not compatible with Vista. The
ZoneAlarm Beta for Vista is also incompatible. I wouldn't waste the time
contacting ZoneAlarm for a resolution to any problems. You could go on a
vacation for one month and upon returning home you would find that ZoneAlarm
has not yet answered your question. Their support department is almost as bad
as Norton's. These comments are based upon personal experiences. I refuse to
trashtalk any product, even when it is deserving of such talk.

The ZA betas for Vista has worked great for me for about a month.

Re: Cannot Install ZoneAlarm

I have had problems with the last two releases of ZA Beta. The latest Beta
release disconnected my internet connection and caused havoc with my network
connection. I could not overcome the problem until I uninstalled it. Also,
both of the latest two releases of the Beta took forever to load at startup.
Technical support for ZoneAlarm is absolutely terrible. The first thing they
told me was that ZA is not compatible with a 64 bit processor (not 64 bit
OS), which is incorrect. The tech support and customer support departments
could not even answer my question as to whether or not the final release for
Vista would work with a 64 bit OS. They didn't have a clue. I find this to be
astonishing. The tech support rep did not know that Vista came in more than
one edition. I had to explain to him the various editions and how they
differed from one another. I will give the tech support rep credit for two
things. He was very polite and friendly. These statements are based upon my
personal experience with ZoneAlarm. ZoneAlarm was, in the past with XP, as
far as I am concerned, the finest Security Suite in the business. However, ZA
was not prepared for the release of Vista and they still seem to be lost when
it comes to getting the software ready for use with Vista. This is
inexcuseable.

Does Zone Alarm work with 32 bit? I loved it on my XP and tried to install
it on Vista, but had no luck and couldn't find anything saying that they are
compatible with Vista or even working on it. Do we just wait until they
announce a Vista download?
