Just a thought...

Considering the amount of posted threads regarding drivers, install problems,
etc..., can you imagine the phone calls going to MS support lines from people
who have corrupted their systems and can't access the interweb or AOL?

"My printer won't work." "Is your printer plugged in?" "I can't really
tell if my printer is plugged in. It's too dark." "Why is it too dark?"
"The power's out."

I imagine it's the same people who enjoy the food at state fairs and arenas.

I get a grin just thinking about it!

I propose as a suggestion to MS:

Initiate some sort of user experience/proficiency test before you do this
again.

So yeah, anyways, good luck with the whole phone support callcenter thing.

Re: Just a thought...

Mark, I don't think so. PSS does not accept Vista calls.

Thats not a bad idea, a multi choice questionaire / comprehension test
type of thing generating random questions based on the online Vista
Beta documentation to at least make sure people read it properly to
find the answers.

I would also say enforced reading of your tips post.

OTOH this is the most amusing NG I have read in years I have been
reduced to tears several times.

Re: Just a thought...

Continue with your fun. btw, the TechBeta testers have filed nearly 100,000
bug reports and suggestions to date. That's fun.

Re: Just a thought...

Holy ****take mushrooms!

In all honesty, though, what's the percentage of suggestions and bug reports
that are duplicates or related-code based? I would (total uninformed guess)
think it's over 20%.

Also, If you remove all the ones from that pesky little gnome, Pirrilo, the
actual total is reduced significantly!

Re: Just a thought...

Duplications are not as big a problem as unintellible reports with subject
lines like "Networking really sucks" and failure to describe the steps
needed to reproduce the bug. Microsoft has prepared several videos and have
frequest chats just for "Reporting Great Bugs." It is helping.
