Windows help and support will not work!!

Hi guys!

Whenever I try to load up Windows Help and support (either by pressing F1 or
through the start menu), it simply doesn't work. An IE7 download box appears
and a message appears saying:

"Internet Explorer cannot download / from help.

Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested
site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later."

Very bizarre problem I know - has anyone had anything similar, or have any
ideas to rectify it? I'm using Home Premium if that helps at all.

Many thanks,
Mike

Re: Windows help and support will not work!!

Try the fix offered at this site:

Fix Windows Vista Help and Support
http://www.windows-now.com/blogs/kmk...d-support.aspx

It re-associates the .xml file type to its default settings. A recent
installation of a program may have "stolen" the .xml association. This
issue has come up with some Adobe products:

Have a look at the following:

From dean-dean in this newsgroup:

Fix Windows Vista Help and Support
http://www.windows-now.com/blogs/kmk...d-support.aspx

It re-associates the .xml file type to its default settings. A recent
installation of a program may have "stolen" the .xml association.
