| | "Date Modified" Column Header Disappears Slight annoyance here. In XP Pro, I had a column header for "Date Modified" appear in Windows Explorer for every folder. In Vista, this is not viewable by default. I have to right click in the header bar, click "more", click enable "date modified", click ok. At that point "Date Modified" still does not show up as a header, so I have to right click again and choose it from the "quick check" list. On top of all that it seems the settings don't stick and have to re-enable that column header for folders I know I've enabled it for before. Is there somewhere to make this a global folder change? I've gone into folder settings and did the "apply to folders" button. XP had an "apply to all folders" button. Do these accomplish the same thing? How do I do a global removal of "artist", "genre", "rating", etc headers? Those show up in lots of folders that I have no need for. At any rate, this is an annoyance to have to add the "date modified" column to every folder manually. TIA! Tom |

| | Re: "Date Modified" Column Header Disappears The "Date Modified" pops up when I hold the mouse cursor over the folder or file name. Also, when you get the Windows Explorer window the size that you want it, hold down the control key (or the shift key ??) when you close it and it will stay that size. | | Re: "Date Modified" Column Header Disappears I noticed that too however I need to be able to sort a folder's contents by "date modified". Like I said, I can add that column manually but it's become a nuisance doing that many times over and over. Will try that shift/ctrl trick.
