Windows Aero (System Specification is fine, options greyed out)

I have upgraded from Windows Xp Home Edition, to Windows Vista Home Premium
edition today and everything is working fine beside windows aero.

When i go to the taskbar and start menu properties, the "show window
previews (thumbnails)" option is greyed out and I am unable to click it on!

Also the Windows Flip is non existant, when pressing alt + tab.

This is my systems specification:

Intel Pentium M Processor 740, Processor Speed 1.73ghz
80GB Hard Drive
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 with 128mb shared with main memory
1.49gb DDR2 SD RAM 1x512Mb 1x1gb

I have been told by many that the laptop should be able to run windows aero!
Can anyone help me!

Thanks
Ash

It could be several things--here is a list of things to try

If it's not power scheme, and you have theme set to Vista and color scheme
set to Aero, your video card driver might need updating.

The following editions of Windows Vista include Aero:

• Windows Vista Business

• Windows Vista Enterprise

• Windows Vista Home Premium

• Windows Vista Ultimate

As far as I can see at the Intel site, they have no Vista drivers available
for that hardware.

Re: Windows Aero (System Specification is fine, options greyed out)

1. Windows Flip is actuated by Winkey + Tab. Alt + Tab brings up the old
interface.

2. Intel's GMA 900 is not supported by Vista Aero Glass. It really should
be, since it's DirectX 9 compliant, but it's Intel's fault. They haven't
created a driver for it.

I don't believe the Intel 900 adapter is supported for Aero.
