My mp3 player WILL NOT install on my (vista) computer. HELP!!!!!

First of all let me say that I am not computer savy but have managed so far.
I can find stuff, download, burn, and shop. But I can't get this stupid mp3
player to install. It is an RCA M4002 and when I insert the disk, the message
that I don't have the service pack 3 installed for windows 2000. I DON'T HAVE
NOR HAVE I EVER HAD WINDOWS 2000. So duh! of course, why would I have a
service pack for a system I don't have? But being the resourceful computer
wiz that I am, I went to microsoft and download the sp3 for windows 2000.
what happens? ppfftthh!! that's what. so I tried the RCA support. I have left
2 messages with no response. (and they have not only my email but my home
    phone # as well.)
So here's my question, Should I:
    A. keep trying and hope someone has an answer
    B. return the mp3 and throw it at the first salesperson I see
    C. hunt down the designers of vista and throw the mp3 at them
    D. drive to RCA headquarters and throw mp3 AND computer at them
    E. all of the above

Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I have been trying
to fix this problem for almost a month.

    Kelly,

The problem is clearly with the drivers/software of your MP3 player. I would recommend you to
contact support for RCA. If that fails, you should probably return the MP3 player and purchase one
which is compatible with Windows Vista.

Good to see you have a sense of humor about the whole thing. Sorry to hear
you're having problems, though. Don't feel alone... some folks can't get
iTunes to work in Vista (software used to copy music to iPods, the most
popular, by a massive majority, portable music player on the market.) Others
    have no issue, though.

If you can't find an answer before your return period expires, then yes,
return the RCA player. I'd do a little research before buying another player
though... I wouldn't trust the word of a kid working at BestBuy or Circuit
City, as to whether any given player is Vista compatible.

    Good luck,

    Lang

Ok, I just got off the phone with RCA tech,
You can manually install the software ( the converter and the yahoo )
you ca just pug the player into a UB2 port ad vstawi auto recognize the unit.
